Don’t Let E-Verify Die

From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, President, Grassfire.org Alliance

Grassfire has just learned that one of the most effective and
efficient resources in the ongoing struggle to protect citizens
from the infiltration of illegal aliens is in danger of being
terminated!

E-Verify is a free, easy to use on-line system that provides
U.S. employers with a way to verify the employment eligibility
of all new hires. This program has the potential to end the
unlawful U.S. jobs magnet, and in short, is America’s best
hope for solving the problem of illegal immigration.

Hailed as perhaps one of the only few un-broken parts of the
immigration system and it is now under attack from key members
of the Senate, most notably Majority Leader Reid and Senator Menendez.

Senator Menendez is blackmailing E-verify, and won’t release
the bill for vote unless the Senate agrees to add another
550,000 permanent green cards to the 1.1 million immigrants
already expected to come in 2009.

Unless Menendez releases his hold, E-Verify will
die in November. This is outrageous and cannot happen!

Call your senators.

When calling, here are some talking points:

-Demand your Senators approach Sen. Menendez
urging him to release his grip on this bill (S. 6633) and then
fast-track it to a vote.

  • Let them know that you are watching their actions and will
    hold them accountable!

Again, we have only until November to impact this issue–one
of the only successful components of our broken immigration system.
Please take decisive action with us and call today.

++ Action Item # 2–Alert your friends

We must not allow the actions of some dictate policies that stand to
negatively impact us all. Please forward this message to 30-40
friends urging them to click below and sign our petition, and then
call their Senators.

Thank you for you quick response.

Economy Obama

The Sub – Prime disaster

If Obama gets elected and the socialist Democrats control both houses this country is doomed.. The Democrats are responsible for the current mess, not Bush other than he signed their bills instead of vetoing them. Barny Frank and Chris Dodd wrote the laws that “encouraged” banks and Fanny May and Freddie Mac to increase sub prime loans to people who could not afford houses. Those two government sponsored entities also gave large campaign contributions to the Democrats and gave several democrat congressmen including Frank and Dodd very low to no interest million dollar loans. Fudged their books so their CEO’s got huge bonuses, the chairmen James A. Johnson and Franklin D. Raines of Franny May got millions in illegal bonuses and now are on Obama’s advisory community and very likely will be given cabinet positions. Obama as a “community organizer” pressured banks to give sub prime loans to people who couldn’t afford to buy a house. You should look in to how Obama got his house and the Chicago politics that got him in to office in the first place.

It was the Clinton Administration, the Democrats, especially Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and Barack Obama’s own economic advisor, Frank Raines who are most responsible for this mess. All are Democrats.

McCain Says S.E.C. Chairman Should Be Fired

McCain warned of this two years ago

SubPrime

“type of loan that is offered at a rate above prime to individuals who do not qualify for prime rate loans. Quite often, sub prime borrowers are often turned away from traditional lenders because of their low credit ratings or other factors that suggest that they have a reasonable chance of defaulting on the debt repayment.
Sub prime loans tend to have a higher interest rate than the prime rate offered on traditional loans. The additional percentage points of interest often translate to tens of thousands of dollars worth of additional interest payments over the life of a longer term loan.”

The same people who caused this problem are now writing the bill to “fix it”… Speaker Pelosi was blaming Bush for this, but if you notice since the Democrats have taken control of Congress gas and about everything else has gone up, and the stock market has gone to hell. My 401K is now worth less than what I’ve put into it. She also said Bush had squandered the surplus from the Clinton years. The only reason there was a surplus was because the Republicans were elected to stop them from passing national health care and other stupid ideas. The surplus was a lie anyway we still had a deficit and the only spending Clinton cut was defence which with his other policies was directly the cause of 9/11. Which wiped out any “surplus” we had. The economy was going into a recession at the end of the Clinton years because of the large tax increases he instituted took some time to take effect. The Democrats at the time accused Bush when he was running for his first term of “talking down the economy”. They have done nothing but talk down the economy the entire time he has been in office. If Bush has any failings it is he has gone along with too much of the Democrats agenda. He let Ted Kennedy write the Education bill and then they blamed Bush for it’s failings.. No matter what Bush has done the Democrats and their friends in the liberal media have criticized it.
The reason we are loosing all our companies is because thanks to the Democrats we have the highest corporate tax rate of any industrial country in the world. We are one of the few countries that has a Capital Gains tax.
Our energy costs are going though the roof because the Democrats have stopped every effort to develop the resources God blessed this country with for us to use. We have gone from importing 40% of our oil to 60% of our oil. For all of their complaining you’d think we get all of it from the middle east. We actually get most of our imported oil from Canada and Mexico. Most of our current problems are directly related to our rising energy costs and the devaluating of the dollar because of our ever growing debt.
If you don’t believe what I’m saying you need to watch Glenn Beck on CNN, he’s LDS and tells it like it is. I’d also recommend listening to Sean Hannidy’s radio show and maybe Rush. Get an education on the issues and don’t listen to the BS in the news papers, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC ect..
We need to get back to the limited Constitution government we should have instead of the bloated vastly over grown increasingly socialist government we have now.

Take The Oboma Test

The Obama Test

http://barackobamatest.com/

I got this from Glenn Beck tonight, I had to pass it on.  If you are dumb enough to vote for Obama you should take this test first.  Do you agree with his view points?  If so why are you reading my blog?, it will probably tick you off..

Brad O’Leary, author of The Audacity of Deceit, joined Glenn to talk about some of the issues he came up with while investigating Barack Obama. He goes issue by issue to see how the most liberal Senator in the United States stacks up against the average American. One interesting survey question O’Leary thought to ask was ‘how much in taxes should someone pay if they win a million dollars in the lottery?’ Take the Obama test here. Also, find out the answer the ‘tax the rich’ crowd gave. Check out Glenn’s interview with Brad: Read the transcript. Insiders listen here.

[Fcalerts-list] Clearer Choice

========================================================

Please reply to feedback [at] FirearmsCoalition.org using appropriate email format.

For months GunVoters have been frustrated by party politics as usual with an inexperienced, ultra-liberal, anti-gun, Democrat pretending to be a moderate, pro-Second Amendment, pragmatist; and a “maverick,” moderate, inconsistent on guns, Republican running hard toward the middle and doing little to reassure GunVoters.

Now that both candidates have introduced their choices for Vice-President, the picture has cleared up substantially.

Barack Obama’s choice is Joe Biden of Delaware. Biden is an old-school, party machine, liberal Democrat with a long and unvarnished record of support for virtually any legislation restricting the rights of gunowners. Biden brags that he was one of the original architects of the “assault weapons” ban, and has been on the wrong side of almost every gun vote in his extremely long career in the Senate. That lifetime membership in the most exclusive millionaires’ club in the world – the U.S.Senate – also throws a bit of a wet rag on Obama’s ‘new politics, changing Washington’ rhetoric. Biden’s foreign policy experience includes several votes and positions that are in direct conflict with Obama’s votes and positions, and that is going to become an issue before November.

On the other side of the card, John McCain went out on a limb and tapped a first-term governor from Alaska, Sarah Palin. Palin is a no-nonsense, staunch conservative with a reputation for having the courage of her convictions and for holding politicians and bureaucrats responsible for their actions regardless of their party affiliations. Palin hunts and fishes and is a strong supporter of gunowner rights. While her lack of experience raises some questions, the fact that she is running in the back seat with almost as much experience as Barack Obama, makes it tough for the Democrats to be too critical. McCain can be expected to draw a comparison between an experienced pilot commanding a plane with a rookie co-pilot, and putting a rookie in command. Ready to lead versus ready to step in if needs be is a pretty dramatic difference. Of course that’s a difference that was completely lost on New York Senator and anti-gun zealot, Chuck Schumer. Schumer immediately pounced on McCain’s pick as inexperienced and not ready to lead…

Obama’s choice of Biden should erase any doubt as to the Democrat’s position on guns and individual rights, and it should raise doubts about his commitment to change in Washington.

McCain’s choice of Palin should seriously bolster the lackluster support he’s received from the conservative base and particularly invigorate pro-gun, pro-hunting, and pro-life activists. At the same time, Palin broadens the tent simply by the fact that she is a woman.

The bottom line is that these VP candidates make the choice for President much clearer than it has been to this point and should make this a much more interesting race.

As always though, we must keep in mind that the President can only do as much harm or good as the Congress allows. It is critical that GunVoters get involved and active in the races for Senate, House, state legislatures, and Governor. As Obama and Palin both dramatically highlight, little politicians grow up to be big politicians so a candidates position on gun rights matters in every election at every level.

As the political season heats up, it is more important than ever that you go to www.GunVoter.org and share the information you have about candidates and learn what you can about others. GunVoter.org can be an invaluable resource in this and future elections, but only with your help.

Record Numbers of Illegals Returning to Mexico

As a personal testimony to this, one of my coworkers told me Saturday morning that all the Mexicans on his street have left and most of the houses are empty. I heard a month or so ago one of the school districts saying enrollment for the upcoming semester is down so much that they were going to have to lay off some staff and possibly close a couple of schools! Maybe we won’t have to spend many millions of dollars on “bi-lingual education” now.

A few months ago Arizona passed an employers sanction act, all the advocates for cheep illegal labor have been bitching and trying to sue to stop the law but in the mean while the illegals are leaving because they are loosing their jobs. Our HOA lost the landscaping company we had last year and I’m sure it was because all their workers were illegals. None of them I saw spoke English.

If you immigrate here you should at least learn to speak English. My Great Grand father came from Germany in 1893 and learned the language of the land and did not teach his children to speak any German. He knew it was important to be successful in his country to speak English. He is the only one of our ancestors we have been able to trace out of America after 1800. Some of them have been here since before 1700. Unfortunately most of our family from the southern states can’t be traced back much before the civil war because all the records were burned and other wise destroyed if they were kept at all.

1.3 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS
RETURNING TO MEXICO
(see details below)

8/25/2008

Fox News is reporting that streams of illegal immigrants are heading
home to Mexico. In fact, the report said the exodus numbers are the
highest they’ve been in decades!

So why are they leaving?

For years we’ve heard the excuses that our nation cannot
possibly round up 13-20 million illegal aliens. For years
we’ve answered their excuse saying “we don’t have to.”

Scott, as this report suggests, if the Federal government
enforces existing immigration laws by taking away jobs, housing, and
social benefits illegal aliens will leave on their own.

So far this year 1.3 million have decided the grass is greener in
their homeland. And since last August, the illegal immigrant
population has dropped 11 percent!

Of course the media suggest the exodus is due to a soft economic
market, and/or an “unjust” tightening of the laws.

I disagree. I believe grassroots Americans like you and I are making
all the difference in the world.

We are tired of footing the financial bill for illegals. We are sick
of losing our jobs to illegals, and we are pushing back.

This is the result. Our “no more!” attitude is resonating–but we
must continue to press in on our elected officials–demanding existing
laws are enforced, double-layered fencing is built as promised.

Scott, this battle won’t be won until all of our
borders are secure and every person living in the United States
is here legally.

++ Alert Your Friends

This is precisely the kind of message that needs to
resonate throughout the land–especially to those who
say we can’t fix the problem. Well, the truth is we can,
and we are.

Please forward this message to 25-30 friends and family
urging them to take action with you by clicking below and
signing our petition:

By the time the November elections arrive, I need an army of at
least 750,000 citizens mobilized and ready to take action against
the next anticipated push to open our borders, and I’m counting
on you to help!

So Scott, pat yourself on the back for a job well-done, and
then forward this message to your friends. Help me keep our team strong
and vigilant right through the finish line!

Platform Comfirms Dems Still ‘Don’t Get it’ About Gun Rights, Says CCRKBA

NEWS RELEASE

PLATFORM CONFIRMS DEMS STILL DON T GET IT ABOUT GUN RIGHTS, SAYS CCRKBA

BELLEVUE, WA The 2008 Democratic Party’s draft platform confirms that the party still doesn’t get it about Second Amendment gun rights versus the Utopian fantasy that gun control laws will somehow make neighborhoods safer, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.

While promising to preserve our Second Amendment rights, said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, the party platform demonizes semiautomatic sport utility rifles and wants them banned, calls for anti-gun show legislation and proposes so-called common-sense gun laws. Many Democrats believe bans on most guns are common sense and they still support the handgun ban in Barack Obama’s hometown of Chicago. Boiled down, all it really means is that the Democrats are still the party of gun control no matter how they try to re-package the rhetoric, and they know it.

Gottlieb, co-author of a new book called These Dogs Don’t Hunt: The Democrats War on Guns, said the party is shamelessly telling American gun owners that they embrace the rights of millions of shooters, hunters and gun collectors, but there’s a caveat.

The party’s gun control platform plank puts the lie to everything they say, he added. As Democrats descend on Denver to nominate a candidate who is on record in opposition to sensible concealed carry laws, we encourage gun owners across the country, and especially in Colorado, to remind the party that the Supreme Court in June held that gun bans are unconstitutional. Yet here they are, calling for a ban on so-called assault weapons even after years of experience tells us that Bill Clinton’s ban accomplished nothing, and cost the party control of Congress in 1994.

Democrats want to regulate gun shows out of business, he continued, even after a study done for the Justice Department found that gun shows are rarely the source of firearms used by criminals. Gun shows provide a forum, a gathering place for law-abiding gun owners to discuss ideas and issues, and share constitutionally protected freedoms of speech, assembly and the right to keep and bear arms. Increasingly, Democrats seem averse to the exercise of these rights by anyone who does not share their philosophy. And this is the party of inclusion?

Democrats have an opportunity to reject and repudiate this platform, Gottlieb concluded. If they do not, that tells American gun owners everything they need to know about Democrats as November approaches.

the federal ban on offshore drilling immediately —
before they take their month-long summer break. Members

Stupid drivers

Stupid drivers are one of my biggest pet peeves. I try to not be the angry driver guy but some times the Mr Hyde in me comes out when I’m driving..

I just got back last week from vacation and a family reunion in Colorado which is about a 1300 mile round trip for me here in Phoenix to my parents house and back. Which let me see a lot of things to complain about/drive me nuts. I need one of those shirts “WARNING: do not annoy the crazy person!!” Better yet I need a bumper sticker on both ends of my truck in huge letters. More explicitly the 6’3″ 225 pound irritable guy who almost always has a Glock 23, 40 Caliber hand gun with him.

This is one that I see a lot on the interstate and have had truckers do it too. I’m trying to driver slower with gas prices and my pick up only gets 17 MPG on average. Still I tend to driver faster than everyone else seems too, as fast as I can with out getting a ticket. Picture this you are driving down the interstate and are over taking group of vehicles. It takes you a while to do so and when you catch up the rear most vehicle pulls out to pass them cutting you off and takes several minutes to SLOWLY pass the vehicles they have been following for many miles until you caught up with them!

The second one is similar, a vehicle rapidly catches up to you so you let them pass but when they get along side of you they slow down so they trap you behind a truck going under the speed limit. I had two convertibles that were obviously traveling together I wanted to run off the road for doing this and then messing with me. One was a Corvette and the other a Mustang. I got tried of playing games with them and passed them again and really pushed getting a ticket, it was either that or shoot both of them..

If your going to pass someone, DO IT and don’t doddle!

One thing that really pisses me off are people who speed up so you can’t pass them when it is clear to do so and then slow down when traffic is too heavy to let you pass them. This seems to be a popular sport in New Mexico!

I hate driving in that state, I’ve encountered the worse weather there, the worse drivers, lousy sign age and they always seem to have the roads tore up some where along they way. They spent over a decade tearing up the highway tough Albuquerque. They do stupid stuff like keep changing the speed limit on the interstate from 75 to 65 and back. Generally it goes back up just as you start up a steep hill.. BTW, their highway patrol cars are dark brown.. I checked the New Mexico website for construction on the route and it only showed restrictions in 1 area, but I ran in to several areas where the interstate (I 40) and (I 25) was down to one lane for several miles and the speed limit was 45 MPH. US 285 is in such poor shape that the lines on the road are nearly non-existent. I almost drove off the road on a curve in the dark because there were no lines, the only reason I knew there was a curve was the growth along the side of the road curved. When you cross the Colorado state line the road improves so much it is like you crossed in to a MUCH better country from the third world..

One year I drove though Espanola on Christmas Eve and they were driving around in the dark with their headlights off so they could see the luminaries. I especially hate driving though Espanola, they keep changing the route of the highway though town and their signs suck. There is one part of the trip though town that the sign for 285 north directs you down this road which a couple of blocks later comes to an intersection that T’s and their is no sign that tells you which way to go.

One year I hit black ice between Gallop and Grants and then it was icy all the way to Albuquerque and it is up hill nearly the whole way. Then there was one year it was so foggy in Albuquerque all I could see was the guard rail and the truck I was following.

It used to be to get though Sante Fe from I25 to US 285 you had to know to get off on Saint Francis Drive because their were no signs that told you that. Now they have a bypass road (599?) that goes around Sante Fe and I don’t go though there any more, their loss I used to get dinner there.

When I drove though there last winter I saw more creatures on the road than you will see in any zoo because they salt the stupid roads. At Christmas I saw; rabbits, coyotes, a wolf I think, elk, deer and antelope.. They let the forest grow right up to the edge of the road and put reflectors along the edge of it. Which look a lot like the eyes of animals and then they post signs like “Elk Crossing”. If animals cross in that area or any other area the brush and trees should be cleared at least 50 yards on either side of the highway so you can SEE them BEFORE they step out in front your car. This trip during the summer I only saw about 100 rabbits, Jack rabbits and cotton tails, more of the former. I have those things that make ultra sonic noises to scare animals which seem to work because most of them I see are moving away from the road The ones I have two horns each that make different tones.

Yes, I can drive to Colorado without going through New Mexico but then you have to drive a few hundred miles though Indian reservations and there are no places to stop for long distances except when you hit small cities. It is also a hundred miles or so farther that way. I did it a few years ago because a blizzard had closed all the roads in western New Mexico for a week. I ended up going up though Tuba City, across northern Arizona, though 4 corners, Durango, Pagosa Springs and over the famed Wolf Creek Pass (10,850 ft) US-160 which requires chains to cross in the winter and is the long way around. The southern pass into the San Luis Valley over the continental divide is Cumbres and La Manga passes both about 10,200 and it is closed in the winter because they are state route (17) and not a highway so it is not maintained in the winter which would require constant snow plowing. Getting there requires you to go through northern New Mexico through Chama. Between Bloomfield and Chama is about 100 miles of nothing but tall pine trees to see and no signs. US 285 comes in to the San Luis Valley at the southern end of the valley where it is lowest, just west of where the Rio Grande River flows out of the valley on it’s way to the gulf of Mexico. It’s head waters are near Wolf Creek Pass at the other end of the valley. Instead of crossing the continental divide in Colorado where it is a lot higher you cross it in I-40 between Gallop and Grants where it is a lot lower, about 8500 feet compared to over 10,000 feet. The route from Phoenix to Sante Fe is all Interstate I-17 to I-40 to I-25.

Anyway back to what I was talking about in the first place, Stupid Drivers.

Similar to the people who cut you off when you catch up to them are those who speed up, pass you and then slow down slower than you were going when they passed you. What hell is the deal with that?? Do they think you are driving too fast so it is their job to slow you down??

Something I’ve seen mainly here in Phoenix are the stupid people who will pass you no matter how fast you are driving and then slam on the breaks and make a right hand turn in front of you.. Do this to me and I MIGHT follow you home…

Then there are all the illegal aliens who drive around with no insurance, no licenses and haven’t a clue what the rules of the road are in this country. I was making a legal left turn when the idiot at the stop sign on the street I was turning on to pulled out and made a left turn almost right into me and missed the back of my truck by inches only because I sped up. If I could have turned around I would have chased his ass down and kicked it all the way back to Mexico. When they do get in accidents they get out and run away and half the time the cars are stolen. “Their just poor people looking for jobs”, Bull shit! These are the same people who are taking American jobs, stealing our identities, crossed the boarder illegally in the first place, and probably supported criminal organizations to get them across the border in the first place. Then when they are here they continue committing crimes.

I was in the dentist office just down the street a couple of years ago and they were just preparing to drill a cavity when an illegal ran the light, hit a SUV, over turned it, took out the power pole which took out the power and then stopped when he hit a tree. Then he got out and ran away in front of several witness, no one stopped him..

Anyway long and short of it is if your one of the stupid drivers ponder this. There are some of us who would like to kill you but are too nice to do so. But there are others (at least here in Phoenix) who will not hesitate to shoot you for driving like an idiot.

I understand a lot of you are driving slower to save gas but if you are driving 5 miles under the speed limit do it in the right hand lane! You are still required to yield to the right for faster traffic.

You are also required to yield to emergency vehicles. A couple of months ago I had a woman cut around me when I was stopped at a light for an on coming ambulance just as the ambulance cleared, we started to move. She moved a little then slammed on the breaks causing me to bump the rear of her vehicle. I should have kicked her ass for driving like a moron.

If you are a pedestrian traffic is not required to yield to you if you are not in a cross walk and are jay walking. You do not have the right away over a 2000 pound vehicle driving down the road at 40 mph. If you run out in to traffic you deserve to be ran over! Especially if you are doing it in the dark and wearing dark clothes. I think we should quit protecting the stupid people from themselves. I don’t believe in evolution but I think if you are too stupid to live the rest of us have no obligation to save you from yourself. Also If you do not cross at the corner you may not be seen, there is a Circle K at the corner where I turn in to my neighborhood. I don’t know how many people I’ve almost hit because they are crossing the street in the middle of the block where they can not be seen when making the turn at the corner or step out from between parked cars with out looking. I had an idiot cross in front of me one day on the way to work recently. He was wearing head phones and I don’t think he noticed me until I honked at him.. I drive a big F150 super cab, not some little economy car, if you can’t see and hear it coming you are either deaf and blind or have your head up your ass not paying any attention to what is going around you!
